I’ve decided for my next piece to incorporate ravens

I’m thinking along the lines of a raven queen. I want it to have a mystical feel to it but we will see how it progresses from here.

I’ve decided for my next piece to incorporate ravens

I’m thinking along the lines of a raven queen. I want it to have a mystical feel to it but we will see how it progresses from here.
…and finished. This piece was created with india ink, watercolor, micron pen and gelly roll pens.

So I still have no official title for the piece yet, but to be fair most of the titles for my paintings are not solid and are subject to change.

Its almost halfway done at this point and I’m happy with the way it is coming along. Im also excited to see it when its finished. Meanwhile I’m beginning to brainstorm some ideas for my next piece.
So… for this next painting I’m taking a break from my Arcadia series and continuing with my “underwater” theme I guess. I want to continue to work on portraits and to improve my skills with painting people plus it seems to fit with my mood and I was inspired by these translucent fish. I knew I wanted to start with a black background and I figured using these glowing fish would give me a real nice contrast.

And here is the work in progress. My goal is to finish this piece by next week and begin a new sketch… hopefully
I guess a nice way to try start this bog would be to introduce my most current series “Arcadia”. This is a series I’ve been working on for the past few years. I started it around maybe my second or third year of college and watched it progress over the years and become more concrete. Arcadia is my version of a future utopia…or dystopia depending on how you look at it and honesty I go back and forth on it depending on the day. But here are a few of the pieces and earlier works in the series.

These are a combination of painting, drawings, etchings and screen prints. And few of the most recent additions from this year…

For my first post on my new blog I want to start off by showing some of my old work from the last few year that has lead to the current work I am producing. Subscribe below to get notified when I post new updates.
Why do this?
Like many people I have a terrible habit of procrastinating, I tend to put off working on my projects and saying I will get to it eventually…but either it happens to late or it doesn’t happen at all. This blog serves to keep me focused and active in my art career. I will occasionally post  sketches, works in progress, random thoughts or ideas on my work and sometimes finished pieces.
